FNJ-021 is “One Time” which is produced by J DILLA aka Jay Dee and was selected by Moka Only from one of DILLA’s legendary beat tapes. The version of “One Time” that appeared on the album was actually a re-make because of an executive decision from the label. The original version, the way DILLA intended it with the sample has only been available recently on streaming services as “The Re-Up version.” This original version of “One Time” is now officially available on FlipNJay Records with DILLA’s previously unreleased (or available anywhere) Instrumental on the flip side.
Moka’s illustrious career has featured hundreds of releases over his 30 years of recording music. After conquering the underground for years, in 2005 he made his first major label release, The Desired Effect (released in Japan as Dirty Jazz). The CD featured a plethora of collaborations including 2 legends: J DILLA and MF DOOM!
